Kārearea is Aotearoa’s native falcon, one of the fastest flying birds in the world. Kārearea mostly inhabit the South Island and are our most endangered bird of prey due to predation of their eggs which lay in unprotected nests. This piece has a small down feather as the suspension point at the back.
Made from a beautiful Pounamu from the Whakatū/Nelson Pounamu fields at the top of the of the South Island
